Scalability
- HP SIM 6.0 supports up to 5,000 servers (physicals or VMs) – all other items like iLOs and OAs are in addition to this limit. For example, you may monitor 5,000 servers and by adding iLOs, OAs and other devices you will be able to monitor up to 10,000 systems (x64 native and additional memory is required
Ease of use
- A migration tool simplifies the migration process from HP SIM 5.3 to HP SIM 6.0.
- A new reporting engine is introduced. You can now create charts of all OSs in your environment, a pie of licensed vs unlicensed servers, and other easy to read and understand reports. You can also schedule and email reports – for easier and wider access of data in your environment.
- License Manager has been simplified, and you can now import a file with the license keys (instead of the need to cut and paste every key).
Heterogeneous systems support
- HP SIM 6.0 delivers IPMI support for enhanced management of the 100 series HP, and for non-HP devices that support IPMI. HP SIM discovers IPMI protocol and provides the user power control features (power on, power off, power cycle).
